Stories, places, and small moments from Apalachicola and the Forgotten Coast — week of August 24, 2026 |

The air still holds onto summer’s heat, but something quieter is settling in. The light shifts a little earlier each evening, the water stays warm well into dusk, and the coast seems to take a slower breath as August winds down.
It’s a good week for the simple rituals — an early walk before the day warms up, a long lunch under the shade, or just sitting still and watching the marsh change color. Summer isn’t finished yet, but you can feel it beginning to loosen its grip.
Enjoy the beauty around us and have a blessed week...
