The City of Apalachicola officially opened its new splash pad on May 14, giving families a fun, free place to cool off this summer. It’s already becoming a popular spot for kids and parents on hot days.

  • Franklin County Libraries Staying Busy

 

The public libraries in Apalachicola, Eastpoint, and Carrabelle continue to offer a strong lineup of free programs this spring and early summer, including crafts, book clubs, tech help sessions, and story times. These community events remain a bright spot, bringing residents of all ages together.

  • Successful Completion of Checkered Flag 26-2 at Tyndall

 

Tyndall Air Force Base successfully wrapped up Checkered Flag 26-2, one of the largest joint air combat training exercises in the country. The two-week exercise involved 14 units from the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps and was described by officials as a major success.
