1. The St. Johns River is the longest river in Florida (approximately 310 miles) and one of the few major rivers in the United States that flows northward for most of its length. 2. In Homestead, Florida, a single man named Edward Leedskalnin built the Coral Castle between 1923 and 1951 using only hand tools. He quarried and moved over 1,100 tons of coral rock by himself. More info: Official Coral Castle Website – History
